Mo-Pop is a two-day music festival that will take place on July 25th & July 26th at West Riverfront Park, Detroit Michigan. The festival celebrates artistic integrity of all types including music, food, fine arts, and tech debuted in 2013 as a single day event in Sterling Heights. This will be the first year that the event will take place at the Riverfront location.
This years lineup is complete with 24 indie artists that will take over the two stages. Mo-Pop has a slightly different approach when booking artists. They aren’t trying to be the biggest festival and who books the biggest names, instead they choose to book a talented arsenal of singer/songwriters like the up and coming James Bay. The 2015 Headliners are Modest Mouse, Chromeo, Passion Pit, and Iron & Wine with Band of Horses, Ben Bridgewell. Check out the full schedule below for complete times.
One of the biggest selling points that Mo-Pop offers is that attendees could potentially see every performance. The two stages point to a central clearing and performances alternate between the two stages without overlapping. This allows people to come in, find a nice cozy spot, and get comfortable for a relaxing day of music instead of running a marathon to catch all your favorite shows.

In addition to the 24 music acts performing at Mo-Pop there will be 14 craft vendors, a beer garden featuring 12 Michigan based breweries, and a tech village showcasing inventors, start ups, and hacker spaces. There will be a food truck village with 15 different vendors providing food for the festival attendees. The featured food includes chicken n’ waffles, tacos, brick oven pizza, mac n’ cheese, ice cream and more.
West Riverfront Park sits alongside the Detroit River which makes it a unique location that will provide a memorable view. Windsor, Canada is just across the river so festival attendees will be within eyesight of international land. Another unique element of Mo-Pop is that they actually book and budget real artists to create art on location at the festival grounds. One example of this includes a line of pianos that are scheduled to be hand painted throughout the weekend.
