The Detroit Movement Electronic Music Festival has established its roots with electronic music as early as 2000, but over six years the festival changed management three different times. In 2006 the festival was successfully re-branded and relaunched as Detroit Movement.
The 3-day music festival takes place on Memorial Day weekend at the legendary Hart Plaza next to the Detroit River. The phase 2 announcement added over 60 artists to the lineup including live sets by Modeselektor, Kraftwerk, Dubfire, and Wu-Tang clans RZA featuring his live band Stone Mecca.
Last year over 110,000 people attended the annual music showcase that also features an interactive technology center and local displays of art in addition to its six outdoor stages. This year the lineup is boosted with performances by Skrillex’s collective of OWSLA artists Kill the Noise, Alex Metric, Rezz, Vindata, & Mija.
